Artist statement
My practice consistently explores how we respond to our surroundings to create meaningful relationships with people, memories and places. The works I create take inspiration from both personal and collective experiences with a sense of place, and are formed using a combination of drawing, painting and textural elements. I develop my visual language through careful and deliberate texturing and mark-making, weaving and revealing traces of the creative process. My work is often driven by storytelling, as I believe everyone’s story is equally important and that each story is worth telling and listening to.
