Missing women project

Inspired by these Missing Women, five groups of young people from the Bishop Auckland area and five professional artists have created collaborative exhibitions of work in Auckland Castle and Bishop Auckland Town Hall – Missing Women and ‘With Dinah’.

The exhibitions explore the idea of giving these women a voice and creating a platform for the young people’s self-expression.

Missing Women is a collaborative project led by Creative Youth Opportunities, The Auckland Project and Bishop Auckland Town Hall, working with young people from Auckland Youth and Community Centre, Ash Green Way Traveller Site, St John’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College, Parkside Academy and a group of young parents. We have been delighted to commission artists Lady Kitt, Leanne Pearce, Jilly Johnson, Lizzie Lovejoy and Edwina Kung to create life size portraits of the five Missing Women.
